
Teaching Experience
Mireia Carbonell has more than 5 years experience teaching music in UK primary and secondary schools and more than 8 years experience teaching in private music schools in Barcelona. She likes to adapt her lessons to student needs in order to improve their level and help them to enjoy their learning process. She teaches guitar for beginners; electric bass guitar for beginners, intermediate and advanced level and she also offers music theory lessons for everyone who has interest to understand the music language, learn to read scores or create your own songs.
Bio
Mireia is graduated in bass guitar for the Higher School of Music of Catalonia (Escola Superior de Música, ESMUC), qualification recognized by UK Naric as a Bachelor Honours Degree. Besides modern music, she studied classical guitar (till grade 7) at Conservatori Professional de Sabadell. She studied with musicians as Jordi Ruiz, Pep Cucurella, Gary Willis, Ignasi Terraza or Lucas van Merwijk in Amsterdam.
Mireia performed in several UK music festivals like London Eid Festival, The British Academy Summer Showcase 2019, Africa Oyé, Journeys Festival, London African Music Festival, The big Feastival, Rising sounds Festival, among others. Before the pandemic she leading "Improjam!" jams session and she just started her own band Periscopi Invertit, worked as a dep for Motown Gold function band and had a regular performance with her flamenco trio at La Fabrica restaurant.
